Gentle computer scientist, timid polyglot, lousy musician, Londoner amateur, kvetching grammar pedant, mildly geeky board gamer, opinionated traveller, 90's-music lover, fatalistic flying-fearer.
Since I finished my MSc in Computer Science, I've been working as a Software Engineer in both industrial and academic environments.
During the past 3 years I've been designing and developing software applications helping scientists research on fields related to Earth Observation and Remote Sensing from satellites. I've recently started a new job in Academia, helping researchers with their software development. I tackle many different kinds of problems, from mere software configuration mentoring to GIS visualisation, Java rich GUIs, image processing and will be doing some parallel programming too!
Before that, I worked in Spain in a private company developing software to monitor the functioning of the ground segment systems of the European Space Agency. Sounds more Sci-Fi than it really was! But yep, it was kinda cool :)
