I earned my Ph.D. in engineering from Georgia Tech. This where I fist got into programming and worked on developing algorithms used for simulation and modeling. I also extensively worked with scientific data bases and how to use them for building complex objects in modeling environments. Additionally, I wrote scripts to analyze the large amount of data from the models and developed equations describing complex phenomena.
Afterwards I got a software development job working for a data analytics firm. I do a combination of analytics, testing, full stack software development and a myriad of other tasks.
The first programming language I used was Fortran. I love running into people who actually have used this language. We instantly share our misery stories of the time when ... happened. I later moved into python scripts and C++ code. I am currently working in Java, SQL, and Groovy.
Anyway that is my Tale.
