Contract programmer in London and the South-East. Started with COBOL-Image-View on HP Mini computers back in 86, then moved on to client-server architecture with Powerbuilder and Sybase. Other contracts then introduced me to MS/SQL server, Excel VBA, MS Access. For the last 8 years, my principal activity has been RAD development with Excel VBA and various SQL databases.

My specialities: Performance Tuning on MS/SQL and Sybase databases, and GUI design in Excel, which is a challenge in itself! Also, persuading grumpy IT managers that it's OK to do RAD development 8 times faster and cheaper than they are used to.
