My name is Maya, and I've been programming since 2008, when I learned Python so I could solve repetitive math problems faster. In high school, I spent two months learning Haskell in my spare time, until I was interrupted by exams (so annoying). I really liked the functional paradigm, but didn't get a chance to return to it until I started studying CS in fall 1012, where my first course was in Standard ML.
I also spend a lot of time programming games, and have participated in several game jams (including one Global Game Jam). I'm one of the organizers of a summer school that teach game development to high school students.
