I've been an independent software and network security consultant for more than 30 years; I specialize in C/C++/C# system software for UNIX/Linux and Win32, especially communications controllers. Started programming in C on the 7th Edition of UNIX in 1981.

From 2003-2011 I was a Microsoft MVP for Enterprise Security, and I still hang out in MVP circles; it was a fantastic experience that informed much of my interest in helping others.

I mostly don't do any web/GUI work, and I don't care what pronouns you use for me.
