A programmer for 23 years I began writing apps for the iOS in 2010. I bought Inside Macintosh Volumes I, II and III back in 1985 but never used them though I read them a lot - it was 'ard back then - expensive development licences and no development software, though I did buy Think C++ but all that stuff was very odd with little documentation.
I'm now really enjoying iOS development though I'm rather slow - probably all those years of UNIX server coding ...
I'm also a member of the Brighton iPhone Creators group (they let me stay on even though I've moved to Essex!) which is a great resource and contains a lot of friendly helpful people with much iOS experience.
