Have spent my time at university working in many group projects. Over these years, I have learned to solve problems by myself and with others through research, adapting to newly created tasks, analysing code, unit testing and self-education. This has allowed me to take the initiative when it comes to completing projects, assignments and additional workplace jobs while meeting their deadlines. I take pride in all the work I produced by meeting the requirements, testing software functionality and further improving when possible such as parallelisation.
Projects
I have worked on a Solar-Powered UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) tasked with precision agriculture. My subsystem for this aerial vehicle was the research and development of solar panels on the air frame. This led to many challenges such as, finding flexible and efficient solar cells, cheap effective materials to protect cells, removable solar cell banks and measuring voltage and current output.
During the solar-powered UAV project I came up with an idea for mapping terrain using computer vision using a UAV. This was later improved by a friend/colleague to include multiple UAVs. This became our thesis/project where multiple UAVs map out terrain utilising low cost micro-computers in real-time. These UAVs worked as a team to complete their task by autonomously flying pre-calculated flight paths and using each other to extend the communication range of the ground control station to complete larger terrain mapping.
