I'm keen on finding out what people know that is useful for modelling (technically, this is known as eliciting expert knowledge). I use the Subjective Bayesian framework for modelling, since it neatly accommodates vague (or dogmatic) expert assessments as well as accurate (or fuzzy) empirical data.

LaTeX and R have been my tools of choice since undergraduate.
