I currently work as a software developer at a branding agency. I started as a graphic designer for a publishing agency and found that i enjoyed digital design more. While i was a junior graphic designer, i wrote code on the side as a hobby and realized that web development is something i am more interested in. After falling in love with writing tools and projects that work for you to automate processes and projects, i started working as a web developer. With my design background i have a lot of experience in developing UI solutions for user experiences.

How I keep my skills sharp

I follow a lot of blogs and magazines in the tech industry, from Wired to TechCrunch all the way to blogs like Smashing Magazine and Medium. I also have monthly subscriptions to channels like CodeSchool, Front-End Masters and Udacity that i do courses on and earn experience and certifications. I am a active user in the code communities in my field. The agency i work with sends teams on a regular basis to conferences & workshops. I have also been to our offices in Los Angeles to work on international projects with big teams.

What I want to do next

I am interested in learning Python and Ruby on Rails. My strong point lies in Front-End Development, so i would like to strengthen my Full-Stack skills.
