I've been programming since the Commodore 64 was popular. My first application was a graphical editor for said computer back in 1986 which I used to create the graphics for a small single player RPG (got the 51/4" floppies somewhere). I spent a couple years writing PHP scripts, I've dabbled in C#.NET, C++ and Java. Currently I'm using Python to build web-enabled applications for my employer.
As far as Javascript goes, I'm well versed in the jQuery toolkit and standard javascript. YUI is a framework I've started using for testing that may replace jQuery as my go to javascript library. I recently finished reading Clean Code, edited by Robert C. Martin; fantastic book and has a permanent place in my library.
