Scalatron is a live-coding workshop built around a competitive programming game for up to 20 players that pits bot programs (written in Scala) against each other in a simulated environment. The game has very simple rules that nevertheless allow for complex strategies.
Scalatron is intended as an educational resource for groups of programmers with some prior experience in a high-level language like Java or C++ that want to learn more about the Scala programming language or want to hone their Scala programming skills in a fun live-coding environment.
Invite some friends, set up a game server, hand out the tutorial and have fun teaching or learning Scala!
