I started in IT in 2012 following spending about 9 years avoiding going into the industry after graduating with a Bsc in I.T. I was, and still am sometimes, a TESOL teacher (English as a second language).

Although I avoided it for so long, I am actually really enjoying working in IT.

My first job was with a wonderful start-up company called Kudos Knowledge in Maleny QLD, Australia, and we built an awesome sports portal site, www.starspoon.com. We used Nodejs and Mongo, Dojo and Java.

I am now working on a website for a non-profit organisation which processes applications for meditation courses. I am using Ruby on Rails.

While I do enjoy Ruby on Rails, I really miss Javascript and Node. I especially miss Mongo's simplicity as I am now using postgresql.
