I am a research scientist using data-driven modeling and statistical techniques to characterize geochemical processes in marine sediments. With this approach, I am answering long-standing questions about the ocean's chemical cycles to allow for better interpretation of paleo-oceanographic records.
I maximize efficiency and reproducibility using a structured data science workflow. I write Python scripts for the ETL (extract, transform, load) process, construct and maintain MySQL databases, and create modular numerical models in Python. Additionally, I apply machine learning methods (scikit-learn) and statistical analyses to large datasets, with computationally-expensive tasks pushed to a cloud service (AWS).
