I have been into electronics and computers since I was 8. I have worked professionally in both fields and in just about every field in both as well. After being in the Navy for thirteen years working on the computer systems for weapons I got out and went to work for a school district IT department. Later I found myself employed at HP and moved through positions there pretty quick, starting out as a tester and leaving the company as a project manager all the while never even touching programming.
During my time at HP as both a Test Lead and Project Manager I started to pick up on what programmers do and started looking into it. The moment I was laid off from HP I jumped right into programming. I cut my teeth on Android which threw me full force into Java. I am currently in college to land my assoc in programming.
Today I am employed with an even larger company and working as both a Help desk technician level 2 as well as designing and creating applications for the space to improve service time and quality. I am constantly moving forward and hope to land a full time programmers job in short time and slowly work into a lead programmer position.
Between work and school I have little time but I am starting to work on Android projects again including a little game that I drummed up and decided to start coding for. It has taken me in a whole new direction with Java and I am really starting to see that there is more to it than some GUI performing menial tasks.
