Before founding AstroSage in year 2008, he worked as tech director in IT services MNC where he opened and worked with accounts like US Army, Boeing, LMCO, and EADS. He was also on Sun Microsystem (now Oracle) expert group that creates Java Technologies and defined Java Portlet specification (JSR 286). He surrendered Green Card and returned back to India to start AstroSage in year 2008.

Punit Pandey is credited with creating first ever Hindi mobile application in year 2001. He also created first ever Cloud solution for astrology in year 2004.
