Have been in IT for almost 35 years, first as a COBOL developer. Have done a lot of 'systems archaeology' and data forensics over the years, as well as quite a bit of QA. Have built test suites (in large binders), function point analysis, business analysis, among other things. Worked with ThoughtWorks for four years on a large retail account building software in Forte (before Sun bought it to remove competition with J2EE) including a load testing application. Spent 9 years with Long's Drugs doing more Forte work, followed by a couple years of data analysis, more systems archaeology, and a bit of forensics. Since 2010 I've been concentrating on QA Automation using Ruby, Python, Selenium, and various tools for both UI end to end and API testing. My last two positions have been in the scientific Open Access publishing arena. Still learning, which keeps me alive and kicking.
