I have a degree in philosophy. My view on philosophy of technology (a branch in philosophy), that techne is an extension of human ethos. It just means that it is an extension of what makes us humans and how we live life as such. Although, logic is primarily a branch of philosophy (now it's also part of mathematics) it's the basis of any intellectual endeavors including both hard and soft sciences, practical science like medicine and computer science and religion.
The specific technology (in general term) that I'm trying to get into is programming (PHP and SQL mainly). I'm also currently working in San Diego with tech guys focusing on e-marketing and IT services coordination.
