About

Mosaku Abayomi is a Software Engineer at the EMBL, Cambridge United Kingdom. He obtained his M.Eng in Computer Engineering (Bioinformatics minor) at Covenant University after receiving his BSc. degree in Computer Science & Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He was a recipient of the NIH NHGRI Graduate Fellowship Award during his masters degree, he was also a recipient of the H3Africa initiative grant, a member of the HKI Bioinformatics Network Modeling Goup, Leibniz Intitute of Natural Product Research & Infection Biology Germany. He was awarded e-Research Summer Hackfest grant in italy by the Sci-GaIA, INDIGO-DataCloud, and COST ENeL project, e.t.c. Abayomi has been building web applications, embedded systems for over 10 years. He has worked with a wide variety of technologies and clients. He is a full stack Web Developer, Front end developer, computational biologist and biomedical engineer skilled in creating scientific and business software application using both software and firmware programming languages.

I'm a Biomedical Engineering Researcher, and I am interested in, scientific / mission critical software development, robotics, computational biology, algorithms and the machine learning techniques required to solve such problems.

As an engineer, I build user-friendly intelligent machines that can sometimes "see" and at most times "reason", I build complex software that read in and process large genomic data sets at a much faster rate, as well as databases and information systems used to store and organize genomic data. My research draws upon techniques from artificial intelligence, soft computing, Machine Learning, image processing, data science, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing and theoretical foundations such as discrete mathematics, Graph Theory, control theory, system theory, information theory, and statistics .
