I have a PhD physics, and I've made a diverse career with start-up and small manufacturing companies. I've worn science, engineering, IT and clinical trial hats on a wide variety of projects.
I'm largely self taught in the realm of computing. My experience includes
linux pure Linux systems and networks and mixed into Windows domains
perl systems administration and data wrangling
r analysis of engineering and clinical data
sql capturing, monitoring and analysing clinical trial data
latex reporting and publication
I'm currently learning python and julia-lang. I'm especially excited about Julia, as I believe that it has a great deal of potential in technical computing. Julia is an excellent fit to my interests in science, engineering and data analysis, and I hope to gain enough expertise to begin making contributions to the language and its application.
My other areas of expertise and interest include: debian ubuntu openbsd regex emacs sweave rstudio, ggplot2 postgresql database data-integritykivy combinatorics data-visualization
