About

I have been programming since 1984. I've written code in Various versions of Basic, Pascal, HyperCard, 68000 and 68020 assembly, 386 and 486 assembly, Ansi C, C++, C#, Java (Web applets, Swing, Android), VisualBasic, ASP Pages, CGI Pages, Mumps, Cache, Perl, SQL, AutoLisp, Javascript, OpenGLSL, OpenSCAD, Bash, Python, Swift, some proprietary languages for computerized mills and lathes, programmable calculators, programming games, a few languages I wrote myself, and maybe some others I can't remember off hand.

I have also used / written JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, TCP, ODBC, RSA, ECC, and AES encryption, OpenGL, AIDL, JNI, Bluetooth, BLE, WiFi device communication, HTML and TCP servers from scratch, STL and OBJ files, maybe some others.

I've used, or am using Git, Eclipse, Android Studio, NetBeans, Visual Studio, Apple II, Android OS, Many Linux Distros, MacOS from about version 4.x, Windows from version 3.x, DOS, DEC Alpha mainframe (no idea what version of OS), TRS-80 Models 1, 4, and Color 2 (my first personal computer).

My dad was an electrician and tried getting me into electronics. Though that never stuck much, I do still play around with it, and I do enjoy designing chips and chip components in emulators and well as HDL.

I have worked with / for Boeing, BECU, Microsoft, Intel, GoPro, and many others.

For a while I was a long-haul truck driver. I have my class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and triples endorsements.

I also like learning about Herbs, both edible and medicinal, learning and practicing survival skills (making fire, stone tools, rope, snares, shelters, etc), learning how to smelt iron and blacksmith, learn about rock climbing and paragliding, practicing my knots, drawing, sculpting (both clay and stone), training animals, learning about hypnosis, practicing tae kwon do, and generally reading about new things and learning anything interesting.

I've been married since 1995, though, since our son was born in 2013, I've been doing less of the above, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
