Quite some time ago, as a boy, I started fiddling around with programming on the C64. Since then I have gone may ways, but programming always got back on my path. I love to optimize things, not just in programming, but code is indeed a very nice place to do so. In those days the programming studies were lagging behind, using older languages and not very agile. Not that it was called agile back then, or at least not generally know, but I wanted to work agile before ever having heard of the term. So as many started self education, Excel/Access VBA, VB6, some C++. Then the beloved .net. VB.Net at first since most I had done was in VB6, but compared to C# it was too verbose, so that step was taken pretty fast. And as web grew, more javascript, jquery and the likes were thrown into the mix. In the vb6 days I was very active on a site called vbcity.com. Despite the name, all programming languages were used there. Relatively early in my career I was lucky enough to be employed by a company where I could create an application and grow in a full stack working space. From the consultancy, development, maintenance, backend, frontend and everything in between, it was an amazing opportunity to hone all skills. But there were still some areas I didn't really need for work. And I missed being active on forums, both to see solutions from other people and to try and answer questions. So what better place than stackoverflow, the biggest and best forum for programmers out there.
