I am an electrical and computer engineer working in the Centre for Educational Innovation & Technology(CEIT) at The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. I am the Associate Director of the centre, with research interests in remote laboratories and sensor networks. I have taught digital system design and embedded system design in computer science and electrical engineering departments in a number of universities (in Australia and the UK) since the 1970s. I started developing on UNIX systems in 1978, and have continued to do so on many varieties of UNIX ever since.
