I have over 35 years of IT experience, with the last 17 or so as a programmer. I often get assignment working in programming languages I have never work with before and sometimes OS's I have never worked on before, like Android and iOS. I get these assignments because I have the ability to be productive while I am learning. After all it really boils down to not being what you know, it is what you can find out and how fast you can find it.
