Programmed ecological and fisheries analysis packages for developing countries 1979 - 1984, often converting mainframe Fortran to run in Basic on 8K, 16K, or 32K machines (TRS-80 series, HP-80 series). Founded and programmed the first version of ReefBase in MS Access. Published models in VBA. Switched to Java 2001. Taught graduate course in OOP & ABM 2002 to present. Now working on ABM reef simulations, Lattice-Boltzmann hydrodynamics, and social network models. Interested in X10 HPC language.
