I'm a writer, a podcast host for Hack the Process, and a technical agile coach specializing in XP practices for teams. I studied Anthropology and Sociology at UC Berkeley, and later earned an MBA in Organizational Behavior. I've worked as an engineer, a writer, a designer, a marketing director, and a communications analyst in companies from Fortune 100 giants to tiny high-tech startups in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. My online courses have introduced JavaScript fundamentals and functional programming practices to over 40,000 students.

I have over 10,000 hours of experience on scrum teams under my belt as a front-end web developer, and I enjoy sharing what I've seen to watch others improve their processes. Now I consult with companies from small startups to tech giants, coaching engineering teams and leaders to help them apply scrum and agile practices to improve productivity, communication, flexibility, and quality of life for engineers and the people who work with them.
