I am currently a Ph.D. student at Michigan State University in Computer Science and Engineering and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. I have a B.S. in Computer Science from Xavier University, where I studied evolutionary robotics, and collaborative filtering. I worked at Seapine Software for a couple of years as a developer on the TestTrackPro team, and at AT&T Labs as a research intern.

I am actively working on two open-source projects:

Avida - A research platform for studying evolutionary biology in silico. http://avida.devosoft.org/ pyLettuce - A stochastic individual based simulation system built on top of NetworkX to allow simulation on any type of graph. This includes a class that generates arbitrary neighborhood sized spatial graphs (similar to lattices, but without the geometrically scaling neighborhood size). On github.
