About

Lorenzo Swank is managing partner at Pixio, a mobile technologies consulting firm. He created the curriculum for the Mobile App Design and Development courses at the University of Utah. He is regarded as an expert in mobile and wearable technologies, and his expertise has helped shape the direction of both marketing and medical fields as they have adopted these new technologies. He has collaborated on several patents as part of his work on novel mobile interaction methods and High Dynamic Range television. He was a mentor at K-Startup, a Korean startup accelerator. He has been involved with the Utah Asia Campus in Korea. He serves on the boards of several startups.

Lorenzo has been involved with a number of Korean universities. He has collaborated with researchers at Seoul National University, and has been a guest speaker at Korea University Hospital and Kwangwoon University. In 2012 he was selected by the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) to represent a Korean start-up at the KoFounder Labs incubator in San Francisco.

Lorenzo has degrees in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. He has lectured on mobile computing across he world in English and Korean. He developed the iPhone/iPad version of a large scale visualization system as a researcher at the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute. Lorenzo began his career in computing at the age of twelve as a tech columnist.

As an undergraduate, he served as a committee member in the 46th Session of the University of Utah Korean Student Association, the only non-Korean even to do so. Lorenzo is a member of the Korea Society and the Royal Asiatic Society.
