I've been a software developer since 1966. I've programmed in many languages, worked in many operating systems and frameworks, and designed and implemented many tools such as compilers, word processors, communication protocols, database managers, application servers, and flow charters, as well as countless client-specific applications. I've founded a number of companies, created a number of products, and have also worked as a consultant for many years. I recently took a position as a GS14 for the government, and am also developing a product -- a GAE webapp in Python -- for a client on the side.

I also train retrievers for field competition using positive training methods, have written a novel, have studied musical composition, and have various other interests. I am happily married, and my wife and I have five adult children between us.
