I am a semi-retired software engineer. A.K.A. Larz60+ (python-forum.org). My software career began in 1968 at Honeywell Engineering, Waltham, Massachusetts. (Same Honeywell that makes thermostats, in the 1960's and 1970's they were a major Computer manufacturer). At the time, I worked in the engineering lab on Main Frame (specifically the 1000 series) computers. Later, I spent 10 years designing Ark-Spark, Plasma, and Atomic-Absorption spectrometers for Baird Corp. and Instrumentation Laboratories. Beginning in the late 8o's I began work as a consultant for Litel communications, Dublin Ohio (this company later became LCI International, then QWest, and now Century-Link) where I spent the next 10 years. After that, I was hired by Xpedius corp which purchased Espire Corp, who was in chapter 11 bankruptcy. After 2 years, was promoted to Sr. Technical Fellow. Today, xpedius is Level-3 Communications. Much of this time was spent working with embedded systems (Rockwell 6502, Intel 8080, 8051, 8086, Motorols 68000, TI msp430's, etc.). I also worked as a consultant for a short time at Bell Labs in Morristown, NJ. In my 48 years, I have used most programming languages, but mostly C and C++. Today's passion is python.
