I have a CS degree but haven't worked as a software engineer since college. I try to keep my programming skills from completely atrophying by doing one-off hobbyist projects like Garkov (as seen on Jeff's blog) and histrogram retrofitting.

C/C++ was my first true love, and I've still got Stroustrup on the bookshelf, but I spend most of my time these days with Perl and fiddling around under the hood in WordPress—my blogging platform of choice.
