BY DAY: Operations Engineer at a power utility. We have PG&E plugged in at one end, but at the other end we have PG&E. We transfer up to a third of the peak load into San Francisco. Sometimes I engineer something, but every day I work on regulatory compliance. I also manage some projects and IT systems.

BY NIGHT: I work on a crazy Apache Spark big data project that I am certain will be really impressive. If I can figure out other people's libraries and get out of dependency hell. And if it builds. And sooner or later I'll have to learn Linux. And get used servers. Maybe learn Hadoop. Maybe decide when to learn the cloud.

OTHERWISE: I have a great wife and young kids. That's the rest of my life.
