I'm a software developer based in Pittsburgh. I enjoy solving difficult problems and challenging work. If you want me to build an application that just pulls reports out of a database, then I am not interested. Give me something challenging and preferably something meaningful to work on.

My primary program language is Java, but I am proficient in several others including Python, Javascript and C#. I have a Masters of Software engineering and a Bachelors of Science in Software Engineering.

I started programming when I was 14 on an old TI-99/4A computer we had at home. I taught myself TI-Basic and made a bunch of games and other programs. The computer was woefully out of date at the time, but it opened up an amazing world to me. I've been hooked ever since.

I often help organizations I care about by writing software for them or simply helping them figure out technology. Usually the best advice I can give them is that I shouldn't create something specifically for them, instead I help them find the right tools that already exist. Usually this is the best thing for them and I really don't mind steering them in this direction.
