I taught myself Basic, C, Assembly and C++ back in the 90s. Then went back to school to get a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science. Since then have also learned C#, Java, Javascript, Python, and PHP (among others).
My rep is low because I usually put my "answers" as comments. Just enough info to get the questioner on the right track. (Lately my answers-as-comments have been getting deleted. I guess SO is cracking down on that). SO is an awesome place, but I feel SO might be making the younger generation of coders lazy.
