I have a strong computer science and software engineering background as well as a Master's degree in computational neuroscience. This combines my interests in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cognitive systems. Currently, I am working on my PhD in Systems Design Engineering (which I hope to finish in 2018) by building a spiking neural network model of memory.
During my PhD I contributed many features to the Nengo neural network optimizer. My biggest achievement is to improve the speed of the core simulator by up to 7 times. Furthermore, I am the maintainer and main developer of Nengo SPA, an implementation of the Semantic Pointer Architecture for Nengo that allows to build cognitive models utilizing spiking neurons.
My free time I like to spend with rock climbing and baking bread.
