About

I joined the CASEL staff in July 2013. Currently, I am part of the CASEL Guide’s review team for secondary programs. I also support CASEL’s efforts in assessment and continuous improvement, including projects linking SEL to the Common Core State Standards and the development of SEL indicators and data reporting tools.

Prior to joining the CASEL team, I served as a predoctoral intern and family therapist at the Child & Family Therapy Clinic of the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. I completed my graduate training in June 2013, receiving my PhD in clinical child psychology from DePaul University.

In addition to my work in Psychology, in 2008 I founded my own statistical and research consulting company (www.statsmakemecry.com) and I continue to operate this company on a part-time basis. Stats Make Me Cry Consulting strives to present complex statistical concepts in an understandable and light-hearded manner. In addition to consulting services, my company's website offers a blog, video tutorials, and other helpful resources, all of which are free to all users.
