I've worked in almost every common programming language out there, though my recent efforts keep me pretty deep down in node.js code. I use the tools I can find and write the tools I can't find. I go for clear over clever every time.
I work for Ionzero, building Hookify.io (among other things), a service for easily hooking different applications together without having to write custom code to do it. Webhooks, APIs and inter-application communication is what I live and breathe every day.
