My first program was a text-based Yahtzee application in C++. It was a project that spanned my junior and senior years of high school and ignited my passion for programming.
My original goal was game development, but I lacked the maturity and discipline needed to take that path until I got married and had kids. After I got married, I completed one of my goals and published my first game on the iPhone called Aebix. I have since removed from the store, but I still have it on my phone. I doubt I'll ever get rid of that phone.
Since then, I have enjoyed creating elegant solutions to real problems. Taking a client's business process and creating a tool that frees them from the mundane to pursue solutions to greater issue makes me smile. It's partly because I see client smile, and partly because I had a blast working with them to leap over the roadblocks encountered.
I chose my profession because I enjoy what I do. Not many people in this world can say that! My goal is continue to create solutions while making work as enjoyable possible.
