I am a PhD student at the ECEO lab at EPFL, Switzerland. I focus on applying deep learning to SAR satellite images for monitoring, explaining and predicting deforestation of rainforests.
My professional/academic interests mostly revolve around applying geoinformatics, remote sensing and machine learning for humanitarian help.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing guitar, being outside, camping, playing football and traveling to far-away places. I am also interested in biohacking, effective altruism, visual arts and literature.
