In my role as the Chief Architect of Initiate Government Solutions, I am in the unique position of helping the VA modernize its Electronic Health Registry (EHR). In this role, I am the sole architect, developer, and implementer of the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) that is responsible for migrating the VA's VistA data from the VX130 Federated Data Warehouse to Cerner's HealtheIntent API's and ultimately into Millennium. This ESB transmits gigabytes of data daily via hundreds of thousands of API calls with four nines (99.99%) level of up-time in a highly secure environment 24 x 7 x 365. Throughout the lifetime of this ESB, we have transmitted nearly 30 terabytes of information with more planned past the initial offering in March of 2020.
I heavily rely on my Master of Software Engineering from Penn State, technical certifications, experience in the technology and healthcare industries. I also rely on feedback generated from stakeholders and colleagues to ensure any solution that I architect can withstand the test of time, is easily maintained by changing teams and environments, and is capable of seamless operation with minimal costs. I have experience in all of the major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and the Google Cloud Platform, as well as with traditional on-premises data centers. Additionally, I continuously demonstrate a high level of professionalism where I strive to ensure anyone I come in contact with can say that our discussion improved their day.
