JAMES N. SEARS, co-founder of the creative practice Cousins & Sears, LLC, is an interactive technologist, specializing in hardware and software implementations of media and data visualization. His work, ranging from hardware devices to software-driven visual experiences and mobile and web applications, has been featured in exhibitions and events such as TED, SIGGRAPH, Wired NextFest, Coachella, MoMA's Design and the Elastic Mind, and can be found in The New York Times and the iPad premier of Popular Mechanics Magazine. His consulting clients include The Department of Homeland Security, Paul Abacus, Microsoft, Hearst Corporation, as well as a variety of early-stage technology startups. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, teaching Expression Frameworks for Data: Data Visualization.
