What happens when an engineer turns 40? They put him out to pasture (management) or they put him out of his misery (fired/quits).
Thankfully, I still get to keep my hand in the game from time to time. It's not all strategy meetings and Gantt charts ... yet. And hey, at least it's pastoral.
