About
Had my first programming experiences in TI Logo in 3rd grade, thanks to the fact that my dad worked for TI and they donated computers to our school... those were TI99's.
Taught myself C++ from books in '97 and subsequently got my first ColdFusion job in '98. I have since been asked to work with C++ only once to repair a COM object someone else had written and am generally happy to limit the amount of work I do with C++ and Java, while most of my work is in ColdFusion, SQL, XML, XSLT and of course HTML, JavaScript and CSS (and the occasional foray into Flash and ActionScript).
I've worked for a lot of different companies, mostly SaaS vendors, which has been a lot of the inspiration behind the onTap framework, a free and open source MVC++ framework for ColdFusion (BSD license, so yes you can use it for commercial projects). I've also authored an ORM for ColdFusion called DataFaucet (same license), written magazine articles for the ColdFusion Developer's Journal and the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update (FAQU) and previously been a member of both Team Macromedia and the Adobe Community Experts.
This is my first exposure to Stack Overflow in late Dec 2008 and I'm pretty impressed with the site. :)
I also illustrate comic strips at woohooligan.com
