About

Born in the mid 60's, Love making music with my band http://www.silly-putty.nl .

I got addicted to computer programming when I was about 11 years old, due to lack of a cassette tape recorder or disk drive which made me reprogram everything each time the computer was turned on.

I kept on doing this with much joy, and even managed to correct some teachers during my studies at technische hogeschool in 's-Hertogenbosch. Needless to say, I found out I still had to learn a lot.

My first programs were written in BASIC on a Acorn BBC-B, even did some 6502 assembler. Grew up, played and programmed 68000 on an Amiga in C and finally got a Windows PC and started programming C on it.

After finishing the Hogeschool I had to perform military service, but after that I quikcly found a job as the primary helpdesk employee. Un fortunately the company went broke, and that's when I finally found a job where I could program for a living.

Starting there, the applications were written in C, but we quickly moved on to C++. However, but still programming mainly for MS-DOS.

I managed to convinde the company owner it was really time to move on to windows. So next I found to program windows applications quickly was Delphi. Which is what I have been doing now mainly since Delphi 2 came out.

Meanwhile I also got quite experienced with UML, Java, C#, PHP, HTML, PHP, ASP, bash scripting and able to read and understand almost any other language.

I am a confident user of SQL in many different dialects (e.g. Oracle, MSSQL, NexusDB, including spatial extensions).

So after this many yeas of programming designing I have become very familiar with object oriented programming in all of its aspects, databases in many variants and Agile/SCRUM development methods in different roles.

As my current job involves Life cycle costing I am also very aware of costs and econometric calculations.

Thank you for reading this entire story :).
