There's this whole "hardcore programmer" circlejerk in the community that I wish would go away. We're writing code, not mugging people. You don't get some "hardcore" prize for using C in a shitty use case for C just because.

All I want is the most direct way to the solution. If it's JS, give me JS. If it's Java, give me Java. If it's C, give me C, hell if it's fucking Assembly I'm sure I can figure it out again to make it do what I want, so long as it's the most direct way to completing the project.

Who cares if there are trends, as long as they get the job done.
