I've been a developer for fifteen years in one capacity or another, mostly in web-related tech. These days I tend to use Java or PHP (yes, absolutely) on the backend, and Angular on the front-end. I've recently been putting more oomph into helping out with FOSS projects and pushing on with some personal projects that have been on the back-burner for far too long.
I'm a big proponent of the FOSS ecosystem, and I think that it's incredibly important for developers to have robust free tooling in order for the web to remain as open and free as it is. I use Kubuntu Linux as my day-to-day operating system, Netbeans as my IDE of choice, etc, and I am working on contributing plugins, upgrades and bugfixes back to these projects.
