I have an industrial experience of 4 years in providing solutions for distributed systems using open source/Big Data technologies. I have hands-on experience in Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Flume, Sqoop & NoSQLs like Cassandra & MongoDB. I possess knowledge of cloud technologies and have production experience on Amazon AWS.

My area of expertise includes developing large scale distributed systems for analyzing big sets of data. Currently I am a Big Data developer at IBM working on the data clusters of Sprint using Hortonworks Data Platform. I have also worked on machine learning using scikit-learn. I architected an end-to-end solution to perform clickstream analysis for Tradus.com. I also played an instrumental role in providing distributed searching capabilities using Solr for GulfNews.com (one of UAE’s most viewed newspaper websites).

For me, new languages are not a barrier. I am particularly proficient in Java & Python, along with frameworks like Struts & Django. I have always been fascinated by the open source world and constantly give back to the community.
