My original focus was on Pure Mathematics, and that's what I got my A.B. in. But I started playing with an IBM 1620 computer, and was soon seduced by the dark side. (Computer Programming is, of course, a branch of Applied Math, anathema to a Pure Mathematician.) I switched majors and spent most of my career programming mainframes (Algol, COBOL, FORTRAN, PL/I), but gradually switching to more modern languages (Lisp, Pascal, C, C++, Objective C, Swift, etc.) on physically smaller but unbelievably more powerful computers, mostly from Apple.

Now I'm semi-retired, and returning to my earlier interests. I've always loved Physics and Astronomy, and am falling back in love with Pure Math.
