One word: 'Robots'!
Flying robots. Driving robots. Lifting robots. Tall, short, fat, skinny, fast, lumbering robots. Robots are what I love and what I do…
I've been building robots for a while now; my interest extends back to childhood when I received my first remote-controlled vehicle. I would drive that thing for hours, almost hoping it would break so I could tear it apart and learn more about how it worked.
I went to college to learn more about robots - getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering (with a healthy dose of Computer Science on the side) and becoming involved in as many robotics projects as I could. In my final year of college, I competed alongside a team of graduate students in a government-sponsored robotics competition. We created a pretty awesome flying robot that could map rooms and search for targets by itself. We won that competition!
These days, I create material handling robots that make possible the Internet storefront economy. All of the shoes, video games, books, and (let's face it) cat posters that we buy online are probably touched at some point by one of these robots.
Regardless of how you found me, connect with me if you love what you do! I want to surround myself with people who are excited for life and have found their own small way to change the world.
