I'm mid-career change, moving from academia to web development. Over the past several years, I've developed skills working with HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, Java, and most recently, Ruby on Rails. I have some graphic design experience, as well. My background is quite varied; an interest in and comfort with logic, math, and computers weaves through my story.

My most recent employment was with the New Haven Community Medical Group, where I served as Communications Specialist. I built and developed their website (using WordPress, a number of plugings, and of course, various front-end technologies). I was not responsible for the visual design, but I did build most of the underlying structure. I wrote content for the website, conducted e-mail campaigns using HTML email, and designed and wrote adds for both print and online media. I organized small events such as committee meetings and small trainings for members, as well as large events such as large forums and the Annual Meeting.
