During Sunday to Wednesday (incl.) I work as a full time lecturer at the department of computer science and engineering at North South University (NSU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. NSU is the oldest and, most likely, the largest private university in Bangladesh.

During the rest of the week, I work on my own personal projects and data-science consultancy. These projects are mostly inspired from systems programming and artificial intelligence: computer vision and machine learning. As a consultant, I am working with GagaGugu Inc., at their Dhaka Engineering Division as a Big Data/Business Analytics Consultant.

At NSU, during the Summer of 2017, I designed two project-based courses: (1) Artificial Intelligence (AI) and (2) Pattern Recognition and Neural Network. I believe, I have trained/found a pool of very interesting and promising young students. Both these courses required completing almost 10+ projects in 12 weeks, which given the social context of Bangladesh is extraordinary. The Pattern Recognition and Neural Network course ended with the students implementing their own Deep Learning Network.

Interestingly, I am a Mechanical Engineer by formal training. However, I believe, I have successfully defected to CS, in particular: data-science, AI and machine learning due to my 6+ years of graduate-level training featuring: machine learning, computer vision, robotics, and neuroscience. In 2012, I did a master in computer vision and robotics from Europe with the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship; followed by another master in computational neuroscience from the University of Maryland, College Park. Later, I worked as a robotics research engineer at EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland. During the course of the last 6+ years, I have self trained myself algorithms, data-structures, object oriented programming and advanced mathematics. Recently, I got interested in learning about systems programming including proper GPU and/or parallel programming; I am working on the idea.
